Are Chromacryl paints good? These student grade acrylic paints are VERY popular, but how do they hold up when used? Let’s do a full test and review!
If you’re a new painter, the thought of throwing down hundreds of dollars on paints can be pretty scary: what if you don’t like anything you just bought?! You can’t really take them back! Buying something more “entry level” like a student acrylic can really help you learn without a giant price tag.
Enter: Chromacryl. We use this paint with our kids and teens, but it’s very much for adults too. There are so many different colours and sizes depending on what you need. So here’s what you’ll be able to learn through this review and test:
- Introduction to Chromacryl paints
- Chromacryl acrylic paint prices and sizes
- Why is Chromacryl cheap
- Is Chromacryl good?
- How to use Chromacryl paint
- How many acrylic colours are there
- What does Chromacryl look like
- Testing Chromacryl paint on paper
- Testing Chromacryl on canvas board
We show multiple sizes of acrylic paint in this video: 75ml, 500 ml, 1L and 2L Chromacryl Paint. Our 2L bottles have an additional pump, which is good in theory but clog up easily so may not be worth the expense.
We purchased everything ourselves, this is not a sponsored video. We have a small school with about 80 regular students attending under 18, so that’s why we have a lot of this stuff!
