If you’ve ever struggled with dried acrylic paint stuck to your palette, we’ve got an easy solution for you—no scrubbing required! As an art teacher, I’ve cleaned my fair share of palettes, and trust me, this method will save you both time and energy.

In this video, I share a simple cleaning trick that my dad taught me. Before, I used to spend hours scraping, scrubbing, and picking off paint from plastic palettes. Now, with just one easy step, those days are behind me!

Here’s the secret: water

Yes, that’s it. No harsh chemicals, no need for hot water or fancy tools. Simply place your paint palette in a container of water and let it soak for a few days. The water will loosen the dried paint, allowing you to easily wipe it away.

Some colours, like deep blues or reds, may leave a slight stain, but this isn’t something to worry about. Many pigments will naturally stain most surfaces. Still, the method will remove all the dried paint without any hassle.

This easy tip has been a lifesaver for our art school, especially at the end of each term. Give it a try and let us know if it works for you!
